The first problem anyone faces when starting a business is money, because any business demands an investment of some sort to get things moving. This problem becomes even greater when you approach the traditional business model (a bakery, a dry cleaner, a restaurant etc.) because in this case you will not only need money to start, you will need a ton of it to pay for a location, employees, equipment, know how (maybe a franchise or consultant services) and so on. The usual outcome is that people back down and remain looking for the better job and buying the lottery ticket for next weekend. The way around this problem is not to be rich, because if you are of course you will have enough capital to start any business you want, but then again, if you are reading this article you probably cannot afford to risk $30,000 to start a business. The only way around this problem is to explore and tackle with decision other business options that are definitely smarter and usually more profitable than a traditional business, which will not empty your pockets with start-up expenses. I know for a fact how much hair you have to lose and how much you have to sweat in order to get $5,000 monthly profits from a traditional business, and the reason for this is that a conventional business involves so many expenses that the next thing you know, you are working for your employees and for the IRS rather than for you. Therefore, the solution to the problem: "what business can I start with little or no startup capital that offers a decent profit potential so I can actually live from it?", is getting rid of the traditional business model and invest your resources in developing an enterprise that relies not on a location and a fat payroll, but on brain power and personal effort.
